Upgrading Headlights & Harness

Our other cars both have HID and when I drive the SHO at night headlights are... disapointing. It seems there is no point to upgrade the the bulbs w/o upgrading the harness. I read good reviews about the harness sold by SUVLIGHTS.com http://suvlights.com/product_info.php?products_id=112.

Any thoughts on the harness? I do not want to mak my own.

As far as bulbs go... SilverStars or GE NightHawk ?

Any other reccomendations / tips.

Why not just install a HID ebay kit with bulbs included for the same price? Whip those silverstars...

Taurus headlamp housings were not made for HID's and will put off glare in the oncoming drivers eyes. I am sure others have tried it, and suprised no comments. I myself prefer projectors installed in the Taurus housings.

I have the silverstars ultras and new housings in my 95 n love em,the harness is the next update i do on it.Several guys here have done it and say there is a noticeable difference in the brightness and no worries about smoking the factory switch that carries all the juice now.
Also Bob Gervais made a comment that in his opinion the regular silver stars are more durable than the ultras ( I 'm pretty sure that was the brand he was talking about ,I do remember they were Phillips)

I have a fresh set of Xtravisions (9004, though, as I have an '89) and am using the suvlights harness and couldn't be happier with my new light output. I've gone from holding up an oil lamp and hoping other drivers don't hit me to actually being able to see the road at night.

Cleaning/polishing the headlights upped brightness a touch, switching to the new harness drastically upped the brightness, then swapping out my 20+ year old stock bulbs took it up another level.

The only complaint I have about the harness is that one of the supplied relays went bad in less than a week. I picked up some nice heavy duty relays and keep a spare in the trunk toolkit.

Thank you I stand corrected.I was not positive about the silverstars n xtravisions.
Funny thing is I have no problem in the rain with mine and **** they are as bright as the factory bulbs on my 05 superduty

Install HID and point the beams towards the ground. Its brighter/cleaner looking/and cheaper.
