Hey all it's been awhile but i have a question that has arised being that it's time to get rid of this ****** system i have right now being that theres holes in pipes and stuff.

So i was talking to the mechanic on my block, well he isn't really a mechanic but he does it as a hobby so i'd say he's pretty good but anyways,i was talking to him about me upgrading to

http://shosource.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=52 which is the magnaflow Y pipe hi-flow cat..

And then eventually http://shosource.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=132 the dynomax catback..

He told me that i would need to change my sparkplugs, oxygen sensors, and some other bullsh*t this guy isn't always right but i know he means well. Can any of you give me your input..Will i really need to change some stuff if i wanted to get those upgrades?

My car is a 1993 SHO MTX

Thanks abunch appreciate it! :thankyou:

I'd try to get in on the equal length sho source y pipe, we had a group buy but it might be too late..... maybe they have extras

anyhow either pipe is going to be better then stock.......

put your old o2 sensors in the new y pipe, and bolt on the new dynomax catback..... finished....

If you are going to keep this car for a while and use it as a daily driver the Dynomax catback will not last long in your area. These are prone to rust out very quickly in areas that use salt in the winter.

Go with the equal length catted Y over the Dynomax Y; might as well get new O2 sensors since they are not costly and this is the easiest time to replace them.
Dynomax exhaust is aluminized, and not stainless and will last around 3 years before rotting out if driven in 4 seasons.
OEM is stainless; if your mufflers are shot, replace them with some SS units and just keep the stock pipes.
... I would not listen to your buddy any further, particularly about a SHO, as what he told you is totally incorrect; anybody with the most basic automotive knowledge knows better.
