I drove the car yesterday and for some reason out of the blue there was no stutter and it was starting right up on he first crank or so. Very odd because for the most part the stutter has been consistant since we bought it and the starting problem has as well. So now I am thinking the two must be related and whatever it is causing it must be something that isnt just dead but inconsistant like a faulty sensor of some type rather than a bad fuel pump or something to that nature that is pretty much bad and not gonna get better. Does that maybe help anyone narrow this down? So far I have tried a different TPS (Off my sho) and I have replaced the plugs and one of the plug wires that was bad. Thanks..

Well I drove it to work this morning which is about 30 miles. The car still felt great on the way to work but by the time I got close and got off the highway the stutter was back. It ran between the A and L most of the way but by the time I got close it was up closer to the R or on the R and the stutter was back. Its strange. At tip in its not there but about 1/4 throttle it stutters up to about 1/2 throttle then after that it seems to go but at full throttle its like it loses power. Goes real good about 3/4 throttle though. Very strange. And I did replace the TPS with one from my other SHO that I know works good.

Pull your codes. If you don't know how, it's really easy with nothing more than a paper clip and a small piece of wire. Instructions are shown HERE!

EDIT:
It sounds as if maybe the CID sensor or DIS module are getting flakey. I'm NO mechanic, but that's my guess.

79pace I have the same problem as you. 93' ATX that if I drive it over a 1/2 hour or 30+ miles I get a hestitation ! I found my EGR valve wasn't routed correctly and fixed that thinking I licked the problem but its still there. I'm changing the thermostat tonight (heavt duty) and the fuel filter but don't believe this is the problem.
Keep me posted on what you find and I'll do the same.

I have already pulled codes and posted them here not long ago. The only codes I get that are pointing to anything thats a problem are EGR codes for not enough flow. I am going to pull the intake and do upper gaskets soon and clean that thing out at the same time but its not bad enough to get a Check Engine light on it yet and the sho we sold a couple of years ago had the same codes but also had the intermittent check engine light and still ran better than this.

I was wondering to day. Could the MAF be causing this? I can pull the one off my other car to try it out. It does almost seem like it doesnt know how much air is coming in to be able to meter fuel. But I know our old sho ran pretty bad when teh MAP sensor went out too. I really dont know what either of those feels like when they are bad though.
