ok, well I have the D4U1 computer and the Ted B. chip. A while back I also bought a 73mm MAF. Well I have been running all that on my car, and went to the track with it, and it seemed to be running good (I pulled off a 15.3)...The 1st to 2nd shifts seemed to firm up a little bit, but nothing to brag about.
So today, I unplugged my MAF sensor and take it out, and hold it at WOT allowing the 1st to 2nd shift. I was amazed at how it about broke the tires lose. I couldnt believe it, it shifted so great, and has been shifting this good all night.
So what I dont understand is, why does the MAF have any effect on the shifting of the transmisson? is the 73mm MAF hurting my car? shrug

i noticed this once in my car....not sure what it does, except put the car in open loop mode.

I remember my friend's father's 90ish GMC PU that had fueling problems...it was runnning excessively rich and shifted mucho hard....

Why, after seeing dyno proof that the 73mm MAF causes a power loss, would anyone continue to use it?

Put the stock MAF back in there, your car will run better.
