Fap fap fap...that sounds like a timing belt slapping around...and don't feel bad, I didn't do the "turn the crank twice" thing when I put mine on. I lined up the marks with the belt, used the allen wrench and loaded the tension back onto the belt, and tightened it pretty hard (had to have been over 40 ft./lbs.). No fap fap fap here.

ok so when i get off in the morning i am going to ,re-tension the timing belt and re-torque the tensioner pulley bolt. also Tighten the timing belt sprockets and let you guys know

Ok so I did all of the above same noise everything was tight. Tightened the crank to 150ftlb and every thing else to spec . I'm getting an oil pressure tester from Andrew and I will see where I'm at in the morning I work 12 hour overnight shifts . No oil light and ill take some more video of pulleys but it happens with out acc on so idk

Ok so it was not the tensioner but the oil pump been looking for oil pump removal guide or procedure. Any help would be welcome.

How do you tell if it is an atx pump and pan or the mtx ?
Trying to get this turd running I have to be in daytona beach on the 18 ,19. I am the minister in my brothers wedding. Ahhhh.
The green turd need to be done or I can't go. And they don't get married.

JR, that's a 3,2L oil pump, there's a metal shield filling the gap.

I have a spare 3,0L pump. It's got over 200k miles on it, but it worked fine when I pulled it. If you need it in a pinch it's yours.

^ I mite have one from the black gen 1 at Andrews. Going.to do rod bearings while I'm in there. Ah the sho life. Owned the car 64 weeks drove it for 16. Fun. Thanks Hamal. I mite take you up on that depending on the condition of the other one .

How do you know it's the oil pump?

I'm with stupid up there :)

WHat makes you think it's the pump? If its because the flickering oil light you're looking at the wrong place....Do a quick search on here and you'll see what the culprit is quickly.

The logic behind the oil pump was that the rod bearings were said to be new.

We've now learned this not to be the case.

We've also found the source of the tapping. :frown:

Just another day in the sun ordering bearing Mon . They should come in the next day put her back together and hopefully I won't have any major problems for a little while. Hopefully :)
