Turbo Sho Hickups under wot above 6-7psi

have you tried running some race gas in it to see if it will go away? that may lead you to the problem.

also plugs could do it? boosted motors definately dont like irridiums or planiums for sure... coppers seem to do the best from my experience.

got enough fuel? i hope the stock fuel system still isnt in place.... atleast a 1:1 fpr and fuel pump id say is needed

Just an FYI: ran iridiums for 8k with no problems...just a couple of ranges colder....same with TexanTony but more miles.

Both TexanTony and I didn't really see a change when we ditched the stock fpr and went with the aftermarket one. But common sense says its a good thing.

how many posts have I read about this car and have yet to see a picture or some shread of something, over 100 i'd bet. I'd like some proof that this car runs at all, then i'll care if it hicups.

sorry man i dunno how to Prove its running as i dont own a camcorder nor do i own the hardware to hook it upto my pc... pictures is all i can do and Maybe a wav of it running. but i assure you that it runs and drives.

... hmm race gas you say? i dont think thats the problem as i did get one good pull to 6500 with out a problem it Must be my maf harness thats makeing it hickup. and btw i have the stock fuel system plus a 12:1 fmu. it seems to be working grate so far havent had any signs of detination yet.

i do not have a boosted SHO, but i had that same problem with my SRT popping/huccuping, its called spark blowout. When you pressurize the combustion chamber,it makes it harder for the spark to jump the gap. I changed my plugs and gapped them a little closer and never had this problem again, and now I'm running even more boost. On top of the more boost, I even have nitrous now, car is still good with A/F spraying with the added boost, no popping.

Yeah im gonna try 2 step colder plugs with less of a gap... talked to a pro drag car builder he does alot of turbo/blower stuff.. he said that with a colder plug it is Much easier for the spark to arc where as with the hotter plug its more likely to blow out and or could even burn a hole in the piston. everyone knows electricity Loves colder temps. but before i do the plugs and what not i still have to replace a small section of the discharge plumbing (stock rubber elbow) as it burst so im leaking alotta boost now... no fun to drive hehe. gonna just make a metal section to replace it.

Been a while since I've been here, but the MSP guys have had good luck (so far) with putting the MAF on the pressure side. Not sure if that'll benefit a turbo SHO, but it's worked well on our protege's as far as getting smoother acceleration.
