im pretty sure your supposed to mount the EGT sensor right after the Turbo.. thats how ive done the bully dog EGT sensors on the big powerstrokes..

I always do EGTs between the head and the turbo. I don't care what the temp is post turbo, that doesn't tell me anything important.

Ideally, if the turbine is close to the exhaust ports on a short run header, an EGT at the turbine inlet or header collector is best. An EGT downstream of the turbine isn't going to tell you if there are high temps between the head and turbine, which is where high EGT's will do the most damage.

If this were my installation, I'd do EGT's near both O2 sensors. Your piping layout, while pretty and nicely assembled, runs the risk of some restrictive effects at the front bank exhaust manifold where it merges with the gas flow from the rear manifold. If you're going to see any negative effects from high EGT's, they'll show up as burned exhaust valves. As others have suggested to you, I'd keep an eye on EGT's close to the engine exhaust ports.

Turbocharging is not free as many folks like to think: Conservation of energy still applies, and thermodynamics doesn't offer any free lunches. If you calculate the shaft power in a typical decent sized turbocharger that's feeding a 3 Liter engine to 10psi or so, it can hit 30 HP. The cost to get this horsepower is higher EGT's, higher backpressure at the exhaust ports, and reduced scavenging of the exhaust gases from the cylinder.

Believe me when I say that the way the front bank merges was all I had room for. Was there a better way to do it? -Always but if you can't tell, this is a budget project and I had to work with my resources. I'm not saying anyone is wrong advice they give and I'm always willing to learn from those more experienced. I have a feeling this is going to work well but we shall see. I will surely keep it updated:thumb:

Thanks for all the advice and pointers guys. Feel free give your $.02.

Cool setup nik!

Thanks! I hope you dont mind but I used your hot pipe design for the base of my similar design. I figured if your pipes work than so should mine. I originally planned to run the DP in the "traditional" location behind the trans but was unable to do so with my unique turbo WG housing. I think it will work OK tho.

Haha, no worries man, it is not my design by any means.

Yeah, I was curious as to your dp routing choice, and then I saw that turbine housing. Unique indeed, at least from what I have seen. Keep us updated!
