Trunk problems

When I got my SHO a few weeks ago the guy told me that when it gets hot the trunk pops open. So I thought I had it fixed but come to find out I didn't. The car has been rearened but not bad. Today when I got into the trunk at Wal-mart it would not close, so I just tied it down and went to my dads house. When I got there I got my oil out of the trunk and shut and it stayed shut. I think the lock is wore out. has anyone had this problem? What other cars use the same latch?

Any Taurus or Sable....other Ford models, I'm sure. Just make sure you pick on up that has the plug for the keyless entry (lil electrical connection) and the cable for the remote trunk release next to the driver's seat. 2 8mm bolts later, and off it comes. too easy...just don't bend the remote release cable too badly, otherwise it won't work.....I am the voice of experience here...heed my words....

the little keyless entry silinoid in the trunk lid is probly bad just un plug it tell you get a new one,i just went through that on mine
