Trunk light

I have a 95, and my trunk light has issues. So I lift up the trunk and the light either flashes or doesn't go on at all, and i mean on and off flashing continuously. I know it isn't the bulb cuz i just replaced it. I looked everywhere for the sensor that senses when the trunk is open and i couldn't find it...I hope somebody knows where it is and could help. Thanx

It's on the left hand side of the lower trunk lid, it looks like a little black plastic canister. Inside it contains a mercury switch. You can find these at the salvage yard for a few dollars.
