It is not exterior or specific maintenance but I will try here.

This is more of a FYI and once I remember to get a new strip of Velcro I will have it fixed.

With the extreme heat in Well pretty much everywhere in the US but specifically North Central Texas.

The adhesive for the Velcro has basically melted loose and caused the center of the trunk carpeting to fall down. I will try to get photos later but the adhesive melted and of course the carpet came loose. Should be an easy fix just a matter of 1. Remembering to get another strip of Velcro and 2. Finding some reasonable temperatures to be able to fix it. I work midnights so usually figure first thing in the morning before it gets too hot but well the sleep monster and sandman duke it out and by the time I wake up it is too hot again.

If you do come across this situation I would recommend cutting the Velcro into three different sections. One for the original piece that came loose and re-enforce the two sides basically follow the curve of the trunk. Center and on each side of center. I used the Velcro with the self adhesive backing. One side for the carpet, one side for the trunk frame.

The red wire and black tape is the wiring lead for the trunk LED light. Taps into the OEM trunk light harness in the rear left corner. The little black tab around center left of the photo is the Hinge end of the Zip Tie for the led light. I used I believe a 30" led light strip, and three Zip Ties. You can adjust the led strip and Zip Ties as you install. I did confirm the Trunk Frame is all metal on the frame side so plenty of room to re-enforce with other strips of Velcro.

That LED light project is easy I will probably do it again if I get another sedan. When I do get this repaired I will take some night time photos, trust me the LED light strip turns the trunk almost into daylight. Pretty low profile so not a major obstruction. Set aside about a half hour to install, basic electrical tools, spade terminals, electrical tape, and something to splice into the OEM trunk wiring harness. I say Harness, but really only two wires power and ground. Turns on and off with trunk opening.

The white strip is the Velcro that came loose.
