Hi all,

I am trying to remove the transmission on my 96' SHO. Subframe is dropped, axles removed, bolts connecting engine to transaxle removed, 3 bolts connecting tranmission to bracket removed, starter removed, all sensors and lines removed.
Why can't I get the engine and transmission separated? What am I missing?

Does the TC need to be unbolted from the flex plate?

Sorry I missed your last sentence but yes.

Tranny is at the rebuilder. Had a good talk with the manager... he told me all the issues with AX4N they address including the pump bearing, forward clutch piston and installing a Trans-Go shift kit to addrees several other issues.

I am confident the tranny is in good hands.

Am I wrong but 150-200% markup seems unethical to me.

I just got the estimate for my AX4N rebuild... $1978.41. I looked at the estimate and every part was marked up 150-200% over retail. I realize shops need to make a profit, but I also know they do not pay retail so their markup is even greater. I can live with 30% over retail, but their markup is gouging to me! At this point, I feel like buying a rebuilt trasmission from Trans Specialties in NJ for $1300.
