thought it was interesting, i was doing some research today

after the track on friday, i felt like i was going into 5th right after the beams

sure enough

# First Gear Ratio 1): 4.48
# Second Gear Ratio 1): 2.87
# Third Gear Ratio 1): 1.84
# Fourth Gear Ratio 1): 1.41
# Fifth Gear Ratio 1): 1.00
# Sixth Gear Ratio 1): 0.74
# Reverse Ratio 1): 2.88

1 to 1 is at 5th, not 4th

i just found that interesting

also, the limited awd comes standard with a 3.39 axle ratio

What's even more interesting is how many final drive ratios there are availible (from the Ford Technical Specs page):

Gear Ratios
1st 4.484
2nd 2.872
3rd 1.842
4th 1.414
5th 1.000
6th 0.742
Reverse -2.882
Final drive FWD 2.77/ 3.16, AWD 3.16/ 3.39

And that's just for non-SHO Tauri. The SHO is 2.77 or 3.16 with PP.

I wonder how different an SEL AWD with 3.16 feels compared to the Limited AWD with 3.39?
