Is it possible to mod a non-PP SHO for better reliability on the PTU/Transmission?

I'm curious if this has been done before or not, and if so what did it cost and what parts were needed?

I tried an aux cooler. Didnt work out well in test drives. Lines are replaced with plugs now. Just change the ptu oil twice a year or at every oil change if you are real picky and run a good expensive oil in it. I run amsoil severe gear
If your ptu goes out, replace it with the pp or pi package one. Just need bottom radiator hose and hookups from ford to feed it and also the engine oil cooler that can be bought and fed off the same radiator hose.

I know I'm resurrecting an older thread, but are the PTUs a direct swap, minus the lines and cooler?

As far as I can tell, yes.

The coolers started in ‘13.
That was my understanding but I saw some people just saying PP so I wanted to make sure, so the non-pp post 2012 are also not cooled

This is somewhat related but on cars with the factory integrated PTU water cooler the radiator has a ****** on the drivers side under the main feed. I have been unable to find this radiator - anyone have a p/n or source?

Assuming you are talking about the drain, the difference appears to be between with oil cooler and with out oil cooler.

Note that Motorcraft lists 4 different radiators. This is for 2015, other years may be different.
