I'm sure someone with more info with be along, but I'm pretty sure that if you're talking about the v8 sho, the car is far too old for those complaints to mean anything to Ford.
I don't know of any recall on those trannies, even though they've always had problems. Not sure though.

Usually the problems are resolved by a) checking fluid levels, b) flashing the PCM to get it up to date, or c) modifying the valve body. If you are having transmission issues, I'd get all these fixes applied first before heading for the lemon law.

I had the harshness and the dealer fixed it on the first attempt with a new firmware load and by applying the valve body TSB. That was over a year ago and no problems since.

Was all work done at the same dealership? I would change dealerships to see if the work was really done properly. That has been an issue in the recent past. Or else, talk to Ford National Customer Service and have someone from Engineering come take a look at it. Since the problem is not "normal", and if the fixes have truly been applied, they should replace the transmission.

I would do as stated above first. Keep in mind that lemon law usually varies by state and a lot of it has to do with 'reasonable' attempts at warranty repairs.

Yea, I'm on board with what everyone else has said. You need to make sure they performed the TSB's and validate their work. I would definitely take it to another dealer. They've obviously missed something or done something wrong.

I have the bump in my Taurus, my wife has the same bump in her Ford Explorer (non ecoboost 3.5) so I'd definitely equate it to the transmission. We just ignore it as it doesn't happen often and the dealership seemed to think we were nuts when we brought it up.
(meaning we can't recreate it on demand; it just happens when it happens)
