I've seen several posts recently about various transmission components, such as the TSS and the VSS. I am pretty certain I need to check these out on my 95 ATX, can someone give a better description of each, location, color, what am I looking for? There are so many connectors and sensors its difficult for me to figure out whats what. Does anyone have a diagram or point me to a link of one or something?

Thanks!!!

im presently looking into the same thing for my 93. it has a rebuilt in it, so i dont think that it's had its time yet...

from my understanding the VSS is between the firewall and engine on the tranny, with a speedo cable going into it. i have the replacement, i just need to find a way to put it in!

what kind of troubles are you having? mine shifts like a retard, sometimes downshifting when not accelerating, and delayed shifting during normal/light acceleration. seems to only happen when it gets warmed up just a bit. and i think there might be oil from my rear valve cover leaking on it very slightly.

Here's a link to my original post explaining my basic problem.

I was also having exactly the same thing as what you describe and when I pulled codes I did get a VSS code. I've since brought it back to the guy that rebuilt it, paid $149 for a new VSS and that problem seems corrected. I want to actually find this VSS to see if this guy did in fact install a new one. But I am still having the problem of when it gets warmed up, it doesn't shift into 3rd gear. While she's still cold though it shifts perfectly. I'm pretty sure that I've located the TSS thru reading several descriptive posts on here and I'll be picking one up at the dealer tomorrow. Seems like an easy enough install. If this fails...then it looks like it more than likely is something internal. Ugh...again!
