at the bottom of the tranny were the oil pain connects to the tranny, should there be a little visible space where you can actutaly see into the tranny. Im installing mine now and i noticed that last night when bolting it in. Everythings bolted in correctly, starter, dust shield, and the oil pan bolts. Its not much space, half an inch maybe, but i can see the flywheel. Is this normal
thanks

There should be only enough space there to get the sheild in there. Make sure you got the tranny on the dowels. These could be holding it back and are about .5 inch.

Agreed. Something's not lined-up properly. Time to remove all the bolts holding the tranny in and try again. :(

i was actutaly thinking this may be correct, i went to a friends house and peeked at his shos tranny, same thing. The parts of the tranny where the oil pan bolts connects are touching the oil pan. Its like there is an indentation in the transmission.
