Hmm.....
Ok, I've had these two little issues....ok two MAJOR issues since I bought the car. First off, I did not have the opportunity to have these problems surface during my test drive.
1st problem noticed: I drove around that night to SHO [
] my friends & took it onto the highway to mash on it. I left the tranny in OD and it got to 108 and wouldn't go any faster; like I was hitting a speed limiter
So I left it go & soon after [two-three weeks] a CEL lit up for the DPFE sensor I think it was. I mentioned it to the tech I go through & he said he wasn't aware of one, but he'd scan the ECU & clear it. I get the car back & on a deserted section of local highway, I downshifted the tranny manually to D and ran that to 135 without issue. However, now I can't get it past 112, WTF!!??
2nd problem noticed: I've had this happen twice now. I'll be rolling up to a traffic light [red] and while still rolling about 5 mph in OD, I'll punch it and the car jumps forward and then......it seems like the tranny jumps into neutral [rev's skyrocket] & then dumps the tranny back into gear, giving a LOUD bucking sound [bad] and causing the tires to spin pretty well [cool], but I'm absolutely sure this isn't good for the tranny [again, bad]. I mentioned this to the dealer & they said they haven't heard of this issue at all, but my buddy's Aerostar does this under the same conditions. Other than that, the tranny never acts up.
