tranny whine

Have noticed that my car has a whine coming,from what I think,is the tranny. It only shows itself when in 3rd gear and around 3000rpm and up..getting louder as the rpm increases..to a point where the sho howl drowns out everything else.
I can't get it to make the sound in any other gear, only 3rd...any ideas??

My SHO and every other SHO I've ridden in has this whine in 3rd. Some are louder than others - mine happens to be louder than most, but it hasn't changed pitch or increased in volume since I bought the car nearly 3 years and 50K ago.

I think it's just inherent to these MTX's.

I kind of like it....sometimes I wish the whine was from a S/C and not the tranny! thumbs_u
