Does anyone have a ballpark figure for a tranny rebuild on a MTX SHO? I can get a used tranny from a junkyard for $600 or buy a 89 parts SHO for $400-$600 but the condition of the tranny's are questionable. Also, I'm not a mechanic or anything but how hard would it be to remove the engine/tranny?

according to the official labor estimating guide, it is 8hrs for an R&R of the clutch. If you have the proper tools, and are familiar with getting under the car, you're looking at about 3 hours to remove the tranny. If this is your first time, you're looking at about 5 hours just to get it out.

A rebuilt tranny is $999 from SHOshop plus shipping for your core and the new tranny. So if you can get a local shop to do it for the same price, you'll save on the shipping.
