Tranny question

Ok, so my tranny in my new SHO has a cracked case and a hole in the bellhousing!! so now my question is, will a tranny out of a ford probe vulcan v6 work? i have a 93 5 speed rod shift.. any help would be great because if i dont get help, im gonna end up pulling the tranny anyway.. thanks.

Sounds like you had the all-too-common diff pin ejection.

Unfortunately, there are no other transmissions that will fit, so you will need to find another MTX-IV tranny from an '89-'95 SHO. You can try the classified section of the forum, eBay or craigslist.

I've never tried to swtich them but I don't see why they wouldn't work if you used the probe with the same tranny. I know some of the Probes also used the Mazda MTX-IV in them.
