O.K. I am almost done putting my project 90 back together. I had the tranny apart (didn't get a quaife this time though dangit) and I couldn't find a torque spec for the bolts that hold the case halves together. Also, it has some fluid on the bottom now. Is there some sort of sealant your supposed to put in between the two halves? The three trannies I have pulled apart didn't seem to have anything to seal them. Thanks.

yep....you need to seal the halves. The best thing to use is a product called yamabond. As far as torque specs I think its 17ft/pds. I know its not much...just aluminum to aluminum and they have lots of bolts...as you know.

Yes, that is the correct torque spec as per my '89 Ford service manual. As far as the sealant, I used Motorcraft Gasket Eliminator (PN E1FZ-19562-A) which I believe is made by Permatex and should be available from your local NAPA etc.
Hope this helps you out.
