tranny help please

i was rollin down the interstate today and i put the peddle down in my 94 atx SHO and it kicked down into second as usual and i stared to accelerate when the engine started to rev freely and i didn't move anymore. I got off the interstate and stopped and the car will now drive in 1st gear only and not shift, even if i try to put it in second. The reverse, park, gears work normal, but the car wont shift out of 1st when in forward drive gears. Please help.

First thing is to check fluid level in the tranny. Also smell the fluid and inspect the color. Then you can run you ECC codes to see if you get any tranny errors. Look in the link in my sig on how to do it yourself quite easy and for free.

Sounds like you broke the hub part off the Planetary unit. Very common under hard accel. It is due to the lack of lubrication going to that area. Actually this is one thing the trans-go kit prevents. Normally you wont hear anything break you will only have first and reverse. You will need a trans overhaul if this is the problem. I have seen at least 100 ax4s,axod,ax4n,axode trannys through our dealer do this. It wont be cheap. Good luck and lets hope it isnt this
