Did you change the tranny fluid with the new clutch (or ever)? Can help a lot. Search for recommendations, but I have been very happy with Mobil 1 ATF. You need ~3 qts.

Mine does that too when I'm trying to race.....high RPMs mean I have to put some ass on the shifter to get it in 2nd and 3rd.

I have this issue also, I am relating it to my motor mounts being old and spongy, but doesn't yours have re-enforced mounts?

There are lots of opnions about which fluid to use, but I would change it out with a synthetic.

Amsoil ATF
Redline D4
Mobil One ATF
GM Syncromesh

These are just a few to choose from.

why do you say to change it out with a synthetic? does it help the tranny last longer or it might help it shift smoother? Also with almost 100k miles is it ok to go to synthetic, because I know with oil its known to start oil leaks when changed to synthetic at a higher milage. I just paid 40 bucks to get it changed if its not going to help I might just leave it in for a little although id be nice if it shifterd smoother :frown: Im also know to spend hours and lots of money to gain .5 hp haha so ill probably change it when it gets warm out.

hey I don't know what this means but when the cars not running i can go through the gears perfectly smooth with the clutch out with no hang ups what so ever. So it only does it while moving does that change anything?

Have you checked the clevis at the end of the rod shifter? You may have too much play, or it may be hanging up. Definately change out the fluid with one of the recomendations above.

What is the clevis and where is that exactly lockated? Also I did jsut haev the fluid changed is is really worth burning the 40 bucks I just spent to get the synthetic in there?

im not sure, but i just switched mine to mobil 1 atf after my clutch job. at first it wasnt any better. but now its def a bit smoother. not a whole lot. but definately noticable. before i sometimes had issues even getting it into first. i had to jsut start in 2nd sometimes. it hasnt done that yet. instead it just takes a bit more effort and it pops in. although, i recently noticed that i have also developed a leak. which kinda ****** me off cause i dont know what its from. it could be cause of the transition to synthetic. but i suppose i could have also nicked that seal around the axles. havent looked into it yet. will let you konw what cause of leak is soon.
