hey everyone. last year i installed a clutch and as soon as i was finished the clutch was slipping and 1st and 2nd grinded.Obviously i did something wrong.im starting to take it a part again and my question is do you think theres anyway those gears got damaged by driving the car like that. Given, i drove it maybe a total of 10 miles in that condition.Im just not sure how much grinding it would take to screw up the sync/blocking rings.the tranny didnt grind before either.im worried that ill throw it all back together but the tranny will have damage to it. thoughts?

I would say they are still okay if you did not sit there and grind the crap out of them.

Did you install the disc correctly? Did you adjust the clutch cable? Did you put grease on anything when installing?

to be honest im thinking the problems either a faulty pressure plate or wrong TOB. I remember thinking when installing it that the TOB sat real loose and wobly on the in input shaft. im thinking maybe its kinked on it and just moving enough to let the clutch slightly engage. Anyways ill find that , my main concern is the tranny internals being damaged. But like i said, i didnt drive it much and its not like i grinded the **** out of it. how weak are the blocking rings? i mean would grinding it a couple times ruin them

Grinding does not damage the blocking rings. When you grind, it damages the synchronizer teeth/splines and the teeth on the actual gear, the ones that the synchro engages with, not the ones that mesh with the input shaft. The only thing that can mess with the blocking rings in your situation is when you try to engage the gear, the blocking ring is trying to stop the gear from spinning but it cannot as somehow the clutch is not fully disengaging. However, it should not be of high worries.
