tranny cooler

does anyone have a how to paper or anything of the sort for adding another tranny cooler. the tranny in my car went out due to heat and i hardly ever drive hard. i am wanting to put another cooler on but i am not too sure on how to do it and where to mount it. any help would be appriciated.

If you are really serious about improving the cooling on the tranny the first thing you need to do is replace the factory steel and rubber cooler lines coming out of the tranny. These are ~1/4" ID and with crush bends.

All that is needed is some 1/4" male NPT x 3/8" hose barbs to replace the tranny quick disconnect fittings. Same for the radiator if you plan on keeping that cooler in place.

FWIW the absolute best tranny cooler for the GEN 3 is the GEN 2 SHO ATX cooler. It looks like a radiator and is huge in comparison to the aftermarket ones. Yet fits perfectly in the direct airflow when mounted on the bottom of the steel bumper.

SHOZ123 do you have a picture of how it is hanging. I get it's on the bottom of the metal bumper but a picture would help alot more.

I checked out that other thread and now understand where the two lines are at. I had no idea where they were before I saw that picture.

Here you go. I drilled and tapped two 1/4" holes in mine. Very difficult metal to drill through. Start with a small bit and work up to the size you want.
