Yup it’s wide open. So now we can have front and rear limited slip conversions.Am I seeing a straight up open diff??

Yup, TC is aware and they’re going to tackle it. Removing this was easy, just removing bolts, cleaned up with brake cleaner, was $30 shipped.

Even with the pictures showing that it's the Dana carrier unit, still not sure if it's a modified Dana 28 or 30.

Would the # of splines or diameter tell us anything like the old school bronco? ie: 28 = 1" with 23spline, 30 = 1.15" with 27spline

nevermind, it was a PM.
Per @Bluezone:
Dana 28 has 23 spline axles and Dana 30 has 27. Our RDU has 25. Escape has 23 splines.

Man, they just can't leave anything alone. I would venture to GUESS that they modded a 28 knowing the rear would have relatively low starting torque compared to the front??

That's why my research on this earlier had me believing it with a modified Dana 28 or Dana 30. The spline count was in between both of them. The nice thing is traction Concepts has a Dana 28 LSD already.
I present to you the Traction Concepts Limited Slip Conversion for the rear diff!

Oh yeah they make them for lots of other vehicles and I can’t find anything bad about their company which if there was something bad you know the internet wouldn’t hide it.

All these advancements in the last year are amazing. These two lsds are some of the most exciting imo.
Unfortunately for me the wife and I close on a new house here in a few weeks so all the fun money is tied up for awhile.

It appears to be a custom Dana rear end. Best guess is Loosely based on the Dana 28 but with upgrades. Earlier Escape versions of this differential used Dana 28 parts. It is very similar but not the same. Had me scratching my head while doing the research. You would have to talk to Andrew up to get the particulars on what traction Concepts told him.
