For the price of spider gear's I'm surprised they don't send out a pre cut exchange. This would make it so much easier as a all in one kit.

I think that's in the works, just keep in mind that up until a week ago they weren't aware that this would fit haha. So they added it to their site for anyone wanting to follow Andrew's lead and once he proves it out or they get a test vehicle they are planning to provide a turn-key kit.

I wonder if they would be interested in doing an ATC coupling as well...

That would be awesome if they managed to come up with ATC coupling solution. Lee, do you think you could prod them a little bit in that direction

After I typed that, I reached out to AKD again and they said that the PTU covers actually shipped today, and that he has more improvements to make to the ATC coupler that he will do to mine if I send it back to him. I'm going let him finish what we started, and see if it does any better with these new improvements before I bring too many other people into the mix.

It's too bad that the couplers are only good for the 2013 up. I'm sitting in the Stone Age with a 2010. LOL

I’m almost more interested in having my GF’s ex brother in law see if he can demonstrate if AKD’s coupler is all that strong or not. This is his YT channel! Dude isn’t messing around. I’m not joking I think I’d enjoy seeing it absolutely destroyed and riddled with bullets lol! A Machine Guns VS AKD LOL!

Tripped across this.
It turns out this is OEM replacement, if you see it described as high energy that’s what it is. It’s not the performance stage 1 friction clutches we’ve been waiting for.

But the more we dig the better to try to find something else hidden in plain view under the 6t70/75 disguise.

Good call!!! This may help the platform grow knowing it's used elsewhere! Speaking of, I never did hear back from Raysbestos. Time to do some more barking.

Looks like they changed the radius of the plates to accept the shaft pin! Sweet!4B282590 1896 4D8D 99AA A688FF398875
I credited Brian in the OP and in the video for finding it and thinking of the compatibility. Finding and buying the GM diff, checking everything and comparing it to our diff, taking all the measurements, buying the TC product, consulting with TC, determining how much to clearance, going back and forth with the machine shop (axle and spider gears were resurfaced twice) and installing their product and filming install was all me.

Maybe we should make a sticky of this thread since it should be a useful mod.

I agree. Hopefully I'll get a chance and I'll follows Andrew's video and then I can offer up any edits if need be, clean up the thread and sticky that pig!! Was really trying to hold off on cracking my trans open in hopes we'll actually see "stage 1" clutches.

@Bluezone you really are brilliant for finding this, for contemplating the idea that there would be some compatibility. This never would have come to fruition without first having you think of and find this alternative to (welding) a diff. Yeah I took it from there but without you, I never would have thought of it, nor would I have dug and searched for anything GM.

I never took credit for finding it, as I told TC someone else put me onto it. I’m just glad you told me and that I was in a position, having already seen my open diff, having an extra one as well from my spare trans, seeing the GM diff I immediately thought this would work. I’m not sure if perhaps you told someone else this would be where it is or stayed an idea. But I jumped on it, invested and brought it to life. But let no one make a mistake, this wasn’t my idea, it was yours sir. Hat off to you.

And I’m happy to report the radius of the LSD plates has increased from what @BweegN got after placing an order almost overnight. Not only did he get an improved product requiring no modification to what he got, but it’s now refined even more from what another customer has. Hat off to TC for moving quick on this as well. Their customer service is top shelf.

Thank you. But you definitely did all the hard work and you were the first one I talked to about this. I left it in your capable hands because you were more than willing to jump on it. So it's a good collaboration. The back and forth between us checking this out definitely smoothed out some of the bigger technical hurdles. Such as horsepower handling capacity Springs. You're the one who took all the financial Chances with it as well. You have also fielded all questions, posted this thread, supplied pictures and created a installation video. Lots of extra hard work.
So all the power to you brother.
You probably should be mentioned that Lee FiveLeeter918 did what he could to help as well. Props to everyone.

I really didn't contribute much on this one other than sending the email to Gina confirming that there was a market for this. She never did get back to me with a dealer application though haha.

Update: I sent Traction Concepts my 2010 rear diff for them to make and install an LSD conversion kit in house. They told me they’ll keep an eye out for it and get right on it. I love their customer service. Stay tuned for a rear diff offering. FYI this is what it looks like. It also doesn’t have a through hole for the cotter pin. You can’t turn the gears by hand but with an axle it’s easy. I opened up my 2014 to confirm its normal to not be able to turn them by hand and that unit was the same. 40B45ADD E885 4FDC B621 C4795005CEF0F08AC319 CA5A 4E1D BBB6 FED9E59035D80A928FF5 C695 492D BB6A 738D4EACA5CE9341D778 AD36 4BBA 90C9 A106A4FF9ED25684B4E1 B2F6 4464 815A 3EBFDFCF096D99B03CF1 F857 4367 8EBB 174301C659C5
