I had a '10 SHO before my '15 and I have a set of Blizzaks that I use in the winter. My '10 used the tire pressure sensor that mounts with a band around the inside of the wheel and so that's what I got on the set of Blizzaks. Now the '15's tire pressure sensor is the type connected to the valve stem. I'm pretty sure the sensors are not interchangeable, ie. I don't think the band mounted sensor will work. Anyone know for sure? Is there a way to disable the TPMS?

Can't disable the TPMS, that's against federal law. I believe that the communications frequency has to be the same, band or stem style doesn't matter (315 or 433 MHz). 315 for domestic, 433 for overseas, but don't quote me on that ...

There's a possibility that they could work if you tried to program them to the car with a tpms tool but I doubt it will work.

Put one close to the car, deflate it, and see if it interacts with the system. If it does . . . . BAM! If not, they're cheap enough. The ones I bought didn't need to be programmed. 70 bucks from s1autoparts. PN TPMS12 DE8T-1A180-AA on Evilbay.

If you do not use the sensors, the car may turn into front wheel drive. It did this to me when my 1 tire got really low. Fwd with all that power is ridiculous..

The sensors are different as the band sensors and one version of logic and when Ford updated the SJB (Smart Junction Box), they new logic won't work with the old sensors - been there done that. So, you need to remove the bands and install the value units if you want it to function correctly. Other option is to sell the ones you have as is and order a new set (at 5 years assuming you used them in your 2010) they are probably nearing the end of life in a few years.

What size are the snows from your 2010? If they are not 18" or larger they will not fit on the 2015. I had a set of 17" for my 2010 and had to sell them as they would not fit on my 2013 non-PP.

I got 18" wheels. The PI also has 18" wheels and has the same brakes as the PP has. BTW, the Blizzaks I put on, 225 60R18 have the exact same rpms as the 20" Michelins I had on the '10.

I got the Blizzaks on yesterday, but didn't run the learning program for the TPMS. I figure I'll wait for the light to come on, maybe by some remote chance it'll be OK. I've heard many say that the band sensors will or will not work with a '15 SJB. It took 100 miles for the TPMS light to come on on my '10. I'm also going to swing by the dealer and talk to one of the mechanics and get his take on my situation. Probably should top off the tires with N2 anyways. I'll also ask if the SJB can be programmed to accept band sensors if it comes down to that. I was never really impressed with the way the wheels looked on my '10, it was Tuxedo Black. I love them on my '15 though, Platinum White. I like them better than the stock SHO wheel.

Looks like I'm SOL. I tried training the winter wheels and it didn't work. I even tried using a magnet. There's a video on You Tube where the guy uses a magnet instead of the training tool and it worked. At least on the video. Oh well, looks like I'll have to replace the sensors.

I'd figure out which sensors are the correct ones for you application, then check Rock Auto. Their prices will blow the dealership away. My local dealership wanted $6 a lug nut for my PI wheels/caps. I bought them from Rock Auto for $0.44 each.

Thanks SHOdded... oh well. John, I found them on eBay from S1 (Source 1) Auto Parts in Kalamazoo for $70, set of four. Now I'll see if I can twist my dealer's arm and get a break on mounting them! With N2. I was just thinking, boy, I'd have a lot of money if I wasn't a car guy!
