Does anyone make a torque brace for the v8s? Basically the torque brace goes from the engine to the trans/body and eliminates wheel hop. I was just wondering because i was browsing the Redline forum and they have them and work beautifully...so i was just wondering if they made them for our cars or not...

You talking about subframe connectors? I dont think anyone makes them for a Gen 3. Maybe a Gen 1-2 could be adapted to work? I dunno.

im not really sure what to call it...they call them torque braces...ill show you a pic... and i was kinda wrond...it goes from the TAM(top axis mount...basically the top motor mount) to the radiator support and strut tower...

Torquebrace

its the two silver "shocks" that are attached to the motor mount. Ive heard good reviews on them and am gonna try them out on my RL but i was wondering if we actually have them for the G3s because the wheel hop sucks....bad

and yes they make SFBs for the g3s also...at least im pretty sure..

If you want one there is a cheeper alternative to the one that you seen on RedLine Forums (goofyguy, on RLForums came up with that set up). I just went and bought a set of sway bar end links off of a 1999 to current chevy 4x4 truck. Worked great. Wheel hop on the RL's is friggin horrible. I about lost a filling the first time I had it happen. I've since sold that heap, I had nothing but problmes with it, only had 8500 miles and was in the shop for warranty stuff 11 times  .

Here is a pic of the bracket I welded up for the sway bar end link on my RL. Only cost 25.00 for this set up, if you have a budget in mind....

Is wheel hop an issue with the SHO? I guess I have never made a hard launch with mine so I'm not sure....

Chris, are you running smaller tires than stock? That's really the only time wheel hop becomes an issue with these cars. The motors in these cars really don't move too much compared to most, and with reinforced motor mounts they barely move at all, essentially eliminating the need to fabricate additional dampening.

That's a heat shield I made out of a hose clamp and a piece of SS. Here's a shot form the back side.

Paul, you are still definitely the most innovative and meticulous GenIII owner!

The thing I can't believe is that you're missing the one of the Trans to Engine bolts.... What's up with that?
