Seems my clutch pedal feel is different when I depress it at high rpms vs. shifting at idle or lower rpms. Taking it to red line (or just any rpm above 5k, the pedal is very easy. Other rpms, it feels harder.

What could possibly cause this to happen?

1: clutch is new (6k) new tob, pp, and clutch, machined flywheel
2: clutch cable is new
3: clutch cable is properly adjusted.
4: new ceramic bushings.

Just strange.

I only got to noticing this when SHOaz pointed out that his pedal has always been easy. Yea, I drove it, its as soft as stepping in a pile of ****. Super slick.

I accidently greased my throwout bearing when I did my clutch. After I did that I noticed that when revving high, then going into next gear, it would smoothly engage when releasing clutch pedal. Felt weird at first but I don't think it was slipping, just the grease slowing the release by a bit.

Ive noticed the same thing in my clutch if I run high rpms the clutch pedal depresses with little effort this only last shortly. Have you found what could be causing this

Mine does the same thing heavier at low rpms, gets easier as the rpms go up. But I do have 159,000 miles on my clutch

Its called clutch vacuum. I have always had that problem in my stocker SHO. in fact, wheni first bought the car, i took it up to 7k in a 1-2 shift and as i pushed into the clutch, it went in to easy that i thought it didnt disengage or something. Went to shit, and just as i began to pop it out of fist, the clutch suddenly engaged with my foot still holding the pedal down! Needless to say, after another 4k, i needed a new clutch. Broken straps...

But yea, i think all stock clutches have a hard time dis engaging at high rpm.

I've noticed the same before and after I changed my clutch. Before when I did alot of stop and go the pedal would get light as it heats up. After swapping out the whole clutch I get less of that variation but will still happen after some redlining.

Here is the explaination I have heard from some Old school and new school guys. The higher rpms affect our clutches because the centrifugal force. Higher rpms actually cause the clutch diaphram to depress a bit. Seems interesting. Wonder what even higher rpms would do? totally disengage?

Glad alot of folks have the same issue as it means it is inherent to the design not due to my install (at least I hope).
