I've got Gen 3 rims on my '95. I heard that the widest you can go on a slicer wheel is 225/55/16 for the Gen 2. Since the Gen 3 wheel is 1/2 inch wider, could I get away with a 235/50/16? The offset from Gen 2 to Gen 3 rims is the same, just wondering if the 235 will rub against anything and if it will fit right on the rim.

Personally, I wouldn't go any wider than 225 on a 6.5" rim. The 225s on 6" rims are pretty bad.

I'm now running 225 tires on 7" rims. It is better, but still not ideal. Keep in mind a 225mm tire is around 9" wide. That's a lot of sidewall bulge!
