I did something stupid and I don't know if my cam timing is off. Before I continue doing stupid things, please answer a few questions. Right now, the timing belt is off the engine.

1. I need to get everything to a known state. Can I just turn each cam sprocket individually until they line up with marks?

2. What about the crank?

Stopping until I know better.

Basically only 1 cam pulley needs to be turned. Do I have to turn 2 revolutions or only one?

All thee pulleys can be turned individually, but MAKE SURE you ONLY turn them clockwise. Especially with the crank. go to www.shophoenixproject.com and look at the lower 60K section, it'll show where all the pulleys need to be at.

Line the cam marks straight up, get the crank shaft in the right spot, and slip the belt on. Working the belt back and forth onto the gears about 1/4" at a time.

I have a question.....I did the front 60K and had a heck of a time compressing the timing belt tensioner down with a C-Clamp far enough to get the 4mm allen wrench through the hole. For next time can you just take the damn thing off the engine, put it in a vise, compress it with a C-clamp, then re-install it on the engine? I have a 95 ATX...The problem I had was the C-Clamp kept slipping off...And I had Very little room to work in.

Had the same damn problem. That part took more time than every step prior to it combined!

Yeah tell me about it...what a P.I.T.A>!!!!!! I was screwing around with that for a few hours....If I was working flat rate I would have lost my AZZ LMAO!!!! I finally got it compressed down far enough to put the allen wrench in the hole, Inorder to put the belt in place, and I had to take a small pry bar and gingerly pry the belt that 1/8 th on the tensioner pulley. It didn't hurt the belt at all but I just couldn't get the new belt on with out doing that. It worked and didn't break/or bend anything.
