I need help with getting my rear bank of cams lined up. I was dumb and pulled the belt off the cam gears amd moved the front one around. I can't get the rear lined up with the marks on the cam cover. I have the fron bank lined up and also the crank one lines up.

Is there any trick to get the read one to move easier? I have been trying to turn it for 10 min now and it just snaps back.

Also how do I snake the CPS wire down behind the timing cover back? It don't want to fit. I haven't searched yet on the forum, cause I wanted to get someone that can just tell me. If needs be I'll call someone on my dime if anyone out there would help me over the phone, just pm me your phone number and I'll call.

never mind. Midwestsho to the rescue. Well Mike's input, and a large open ended wrench to get better leverage on the cam gear.

Try using your old timing belt wrapped around the cam sprocket. The snap back is caused by the valve springs on the valves getting seated.

What does an open ended wrench have to do with my suggestion for matches and a can of gasoline? :D

Wear a thick pair of gloves and start turning that puppy by hand. Mine moved off and I starting turning it by hand without gloves. After about 10 minutes of it springing back and forth to each side my hands were starting to get chewed up and I came up with the bright idea of using gloves! Once you are close to the mark go very slow so it doesn't spring the other direction on you!

I've chewed off way too much skin off my knuckles in the past, I wear gloves all the time. But I finally got them lined up.
