Well I was doing the 96 upgrade on my atx today and noticed my ball joint was toast (destroyed it hitting a *** hole) and then looked up and noticed my spring was cracked. So I figured thats kinda dangerous to drive on so I decided to replace it. I have this set of springs that I THOUGHT were stock. But when placed next to my busted stock spring they are most definitly different. Are these moog cargo coils? They are obviously black and the only black springs I know of are moogs and eibachs, but the springs do not say eibach anywhere and do not look liek they were ever cut. So does anyone have a clue as to what springs these are? The stock spring is in the middle for reference.

Moog cargo coils are the same length as stock springs (hence the need to cut). So, based on your assertion that they have not been cut, they're not Moogs.

Well I jsut laid them next to my Eibachs and I can 100% confirm that what was stated is correct, they are definitly not Eibachs. I took soem measurements of the spring as well.

Actual Coil diameter is 5/8"

The spring is about 7 1/4" wide

It is also 13 1/4" tall

I was told the car it came from had shoshop liners on it at one point in its life (these were off the 94 that was modded to **** with shoshop stuff that I am parting out). The only thing is that the car didn't sit very low as if it had them, here is a pic of the car on the trailer when I got it home.

I suppose that is possible, but honestly I'm not sure how long they have been on the car.

They were on the car at ~ 10 years. It used to sit a bit lower than it did when you got the car and took pictures of it. Unless Ted swapped out the SS Linears (I doubt it) than that's what you have. Ted definitely did not have stock springs on that car.

Here's your 93 too while we're at it:

EDIT: That listing is very old. It states that he had Tokicos/Eibachs but I'm pretty sure he upgraded everything with konis/SS Linears right before he got the 18's.

Yeah I have seen both of those, Ted said he used to have the Eibachs and all that stuff (he was supposed to give them to me) but said he couldn't find them, so maybe when he swapped that stuff out, he put the shoshop springs back on. I know he used to drive the car daily back in 2002-2003 so maybe once he used it for track only he put the shoshop springs back on. Oh well I don't know, but the springs are up for sale for anyone who wants them. It's in my parts ad here:
