time to flush my atx

so what is the prefered tranny fluid for a atx car.this is my first sho with a automatic,so i,m open for suggestions.:wave:i do remember reading on here along time ago about using synthetic motor oil,was this a good idea or did it flop?

Both and yes I am running it mine. It is a little pricey but I have been running Mobil 1 ATF in my transmission for the past 180k. My transmission and motor now have close to 290k and both are original and get beat on regularly. I actually just flushed it again last weekend.

I run Valvoline Max-life ATF in my ATX. Personally I don't feel that the extra performance of the M1 ATF justifies its higher price. I have 195,000 on the original tranny and it's happy as a clam.

You might've heard about using ATF in an engine to clean it out. This is a well proven process and it works (as long as you don't leave it in there too long, and you don't use more than about a quart).

no actually read a thread long time ago that said to use mobile 1 engine oil,which didn,t make sense to me, as atf has alot more detergents and friction enablers plus s few more different additives.maybe i miss read it or missunderstood the thread.i,m well aware of how well m1 motor oil works as i have had a few turbo cars,n ran it in my 90 mtx,thanks for the advice guys

I run that in all my automatic transmissions...a great fluid! I also run it in my BMW (5-speed).
