So I am back to driving the 93 since the 97 was totaled. Last night I noticed a ticking sound. Sounds like a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle. No noise at idle, starts at around 2-3K rpms. Valve spring? Rod Bearing?

maybe the throw out bearing in the clutch. does it go away when u push in the clutch?

my 92 mtx does the same thing. reading the other messages tells me i need a valve lash adjustment. one or more of the valve shims are out of specs. just ordered the shim kit and tools from cincysho. this should fix my problem. should be the same situation for you. hope this helps

Well, it was definetly the rod bearing. CAr go buh bye. No more 93 SHO (WOOHOO!) definetly a blessing in disguise

Nope, lol. The original parts car is going to a new forum member here (rogueSHO). Long time friend of mine. The new parts car is getting stripped and parted before going to the yard. Unless Kirk wants the whole thing, he is at least taking a transmission. The 97 belongs to the insurance company now.

Going tonight to look at a 92 Chevy Blazer for 900 bucks as a winter beater and calling the bank to get a loan for another 97 Ebony Satin only with grey interior. Then I will have a car that runs, lol. Seriously I have owned...7 cars...with the Blazer and second 97 it will be 9...since I was 18 (now 23). MUHAHAHAHA
