Here we go again. As I'm driving and get up to between 35-45mph the tranny (ATX) struggles, not like its slipping, like it doesnt know what to do. I let the foot off the gas and the car keeps going, the speedo stays the same. When I go to accelerate the car will be ok then it suddenly just speeds up like I hit the passing gear, even tho I'm not punching it. Im getting ready to install a new Throttle Position Sensor, but want to make sure thats the prob. I know the needs a 60k so that may be some of the problem. Im afraid to invest in the worng thing and not have the money to fix something major. Any help would be great.

P.S. Please don't tell me I need a new tranny cuz that would suck... :(

I had this same problem in my F150 and it took me about 3 days to find it. I thought it was a TPI and normally it is since the trannys are electronic and run off of the TPI and some other sensors as well. I would try the TPI and see what happens wost case is its not it and you can return the sensor in most cases.
