Hello All.
Has anyone used the Thornton Chip Tune.
I'm looking for a modest performance upgrade and do not want a true "tune".
Any information would help.
Thanks!

Why do you not want a real tune? A real tune is worth the improved shifting alone and the extra power is a bonus. When you get a tune, you can let your tuner know how aggressive you want to be if you’re worried about longevity.

If you 100% insist on no tune, then consider something like the JMS Boostmax and/or PedalMax. However, a real tune would better than both and without question the route to go.

Don't have any experience with Thorton but I used the Chiptuning tools on my Ford F-150, and it was a pretty decent upgrade. I wasn’t looking for anything too drastic, just a modest boost in performance, and it delivered just that. The installation was straightforward, and I noticed a slight improvement in throttle response and overall smoothness in the ride. It’s definitely not a full-on tune, but for the price and ease of use, it’s worth considering.

I use a diablo tune. You can set it for the 87, 91, or 93 octane. It also has a few other perimeters you can mess with. I personally noticed a difference. If you are looking for a preloaded tune they aren't bad. If you want cheaper, you can always buy a used one(as long as it is unlocked).

Then if you want to do custom tuning later macperformance can tune the car for ya and then you can use the diablo tuner to upload the new tune.

Well I just realized the op made this post in 2023.
