Would it be possible to get the search and private messaging time limit disabled or at least decreased? Sometimes you want to change your search just a little, and you have to wait another 60 seconds if you make a mistake. Also noticed the same problem with private messages.

Just an annoyance that you dont see often on online forums.

It's only 15 seconds between searches. It sucks if you misspell something or don't get any results.

Yeah its just something I've never run into before figured it could be disabled completely without hurting anything.

Also 60 seconds between private messages. Would lowering those values to say 5 seconds each cause some problems on the server side?

The imposed search latency is in place to minimize the impact that performing a search has on the server's performance, and consequently on the overall performance of SHOForum.com.

I'm no admin here, and yeah, typo's can be a bummer, but I see no problem with the delays being in place, nor do I see a reason to rescind them.

FWIW, the gap between searches and posts used to be 60 seconds, until I convinced Beth to lower it to 15 seconds. I really don't see it getting lowered again... if you can't wait 15 seconds for something, you need to consider a different line of work.

I don't know if it's still here since the great crash of 08, but I either PM'd Beth or put a thread in the report forum and asked her to lower it, and she said she would, and then she did. So no, I don't know for sure it was me, but I certainly was a part of it if nothing else. I used to basically live on this forum.
