Thank you for calling me a *******. Don't accuse me of not giving a crap. When my pressure plate broke I didn't junk my car. I figured out what the problem was and with a little help everything was back to normal. I didn't give up on my car the first time I had a problem with it. This problem however sounds extensive, and it would be a lot easier to cut his losses.

You know what, when I was looking to buy a car I investigated different car communities and a big reason I decided to buy a SHO was because they seemed to have the friendliest and most helpful community. In line with that my post was trying to give some advice that would be helpful. But, I will thank you to for calling me an idiot as well. I guess I was wrong about SHOforum...

I will respond to this as well. Refer to an earlier post where I bought a new clutch set and installed it (with help), I also bought a new tranny for good measure off of SHOtime2511 (worked great thanks) but had to scavenge a few parts off my old one (which I didn't throw away). I have spent a lot of time researching about this car, and talking about it constantly. I love driving it, and I spend a lot of time on SHOforum. I am anything but lazy, and I have nothing but respect for the SHO.

Well... Interesting. I wouldent expect a friendly hello after i tell somone to junk their car because its got a boo boo... an engine swap is very straight forward as long as you have commen sence, knowhow (SHOForum FTW) and follow instructions... Its people like you that are making SHO's scarce because "its too big of a job" Now quoting a certain part of your post

I spent one whole day driving to WI to buy a plus hood off a member who was scraping out a rust free plus. I offered him money for the car, but he had decided to scrap it. I have spent a lot of time researching about this car, and talking about it constantly. I love driving it, and I spend a lot of time on SHOforum. well by what your first post stated you came off as a lazy person. you replaced your tranny... why shouldent he replace his engine? might as well try to keep another one on the road instead of junking it...

I don't know dchg86's experience with cars, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess the car was not maintained well and has other problems as well. That being said the car can be used as a parts car to help keep other SHO's on the road.

Also, stop making assumptions about me, you have never met me. I won't assume becasue of your age that you are inexperienced with cars or women, so don't make any about me.

ORLY? well i dont want this thread to get locked so i wont reply to your comment in the way that i want to because i know i am the bigger man (in both ways:naughty: {sorry, had to throw it in there:rofl:}) but i will say theis... when you tell somone you think they should junk their car it dosent really translate out that well to you should part it out. and either way, why should he do either when all he needs is a donor engine some help from forum members (SHOForum FTW again:thumb:) and friends and mayby some tools to keep it running... your OP stated that it was too much work to you to swap the engine so you think he should junk it. that dosent float well with me and it in no way is constructive to finding the PROPER solution. i caled you out on it and you got ******. IDC what you do with your car but to tell somone they should JUNK their car when they could repair it easily and keep a perfectly good running car on the road. now that being said, i am quite certain that my mechanical knowledge and knowhow is far greater than you.

Now you run along and have a nice day :thumb::finger:

Coming into a community where the majority of the members would go ahead and do a 3.2L swap if they blew or ruined a motor (myself included), and suggesting that you junk it because it would be too much work for you...
what did you think would happen?

If you're going to make a comment like that, and not have a thick enough skin to deal with the repercussions, I would strongly suggest that you limit your posts to requests for help, or technical replies.

Not everyone here is going to take the easy way out, or agree with your opinion. And (as you've seen), not everyone is going to coddle you when they let you know that.

To the OP... find a 3.2L, follow the swap instructions that are posted all over the forum, install and shim your 3.0L intake cams, and have a ball with your 3.2L MTX. :thumb:

Glad we agree. also OP, if you are so incluned too i highly siggest that you do a 60K service (search) on your engine while its out and also change the rod bearings, if you do that you will have a long living engine and it will help KEEP YOUR SHO ON THE ROAD :thumb:

First off, You guy's are acting like bafoons gaining up on swantom leap for merely giving his opinion. Why I can respect your guy's passion for the car, Its a cheap old Taurus when it comes down it and quite frankly it makes perfect sense to me. Buy a cheap old car, Blow the motor and junk it. Somone of you are coming on here acting like he just said the Halocaust did not happen. Get a grip and stop acting like such ass clowns.

To the OP, Do what you please with the car. You can light it on fire for all I care. It's just a car.

Maybe a majority of the members would do things I certain way. I may not be in the majority, and I was simply offering advice. I need like ten more people to post something about how much of an idiot I am to be happy. As far as thick enough skin, I will try to not lose sleep over it.

Your mechanical knowledge is probably better than mine, that's why if it was me I would part/junk it out. That being said, if you wish to reply to my comments in the way that you see fit, you may PM me.

I dont consider "cut your losses and junk it" advice that somone should actually consider. :nut: w/e your not worth my time. Best of luck dchg86's keep us posted with your decisions and your swap if you so choose to. :salute:

Why? He paid 600 Dollars for the car. I personally would start ripping the thing apart, Selling what I could and send it to the Junkyard. It's just a car.
