The brakes on my 2011 were pathetic. Ordered police interceptor rotors, calipers, brackets and back plates.
Huge improvement! about $400 for parts. They should have been on there to begin with...

Did you upgrade to the 13+ model year brakes?
I know they were substantially better than the 2010-2012 brake system and they bolt right up.

Yes, you can with forscan. From what I’ve read, and heard about here it’s as simple as changing a digit in a line of code. In my un computer savy ways just never took the time to get it figured out.
Can forscan disable the top speed limiter?

My Nav volume was low when I first got the car, I was able to turn it up when the “voice” came over the speakers. While it was saying something like left turn ahead, I would turn the volume dial up. Hope that works for you.

Edit: clarity
Hey Michigan-SHO, turning up the volume while during the GPS voice worked! Thanks

I have a 2012 SHO PP and I drive my wife's 2014 SEL 2-3 times a month. I like EVERYTHING in my interior better than my wife's car. A lot of the things being mentioned are in the 2013+ cars. I even notice her seats lower about 3/4" - 1" less than mine which I also cannot stand. I'm 6' 0" and have the upper body of someone that's 6"4" so I always have my seats as low as they go. I tend to sit way upright too. I'm very comfortable in my 2012. If the only option for a 2013+ SHO was the SEL interior I wouldn't even own one. I don't care for the wife's car if you can't tell.

A few things I haven't seen mentioned:

-The Subaru Brat rear stance. The wheel wells need to be an inch higher and the rear brought down 1 1/2" - 2".
-Soft brake pedal no matter what combination you're using from the factory. The brakes on the 2010-2012 cars shouldn't even be legal.
-The inadequate intercooler.
-The battery location. Get it out of the engine bay altogether.
-The lack of a sport mode selection in between automatic and paddle shift mode.
-I wish the paddle shifters were stationary with the column instead of mounted on the steering wheel.

H and R springs fixes the stance, and improves the handling some.

I agree on the soft break peddle.

Get a gearhead intercooler!

Far as I know, sport mode IS auto. Like, I put mine into sport, and if I'm not quick enough to flick the paddle shifter, it changes gears automatically. So, still an auto. It wish it was true paddle shifting...gear doesn't change, bouncing off the tack even, until I click the paddle.

In the wife's 2014 SEL you can slip it into "S" mode on the shifter. It basically holds the revs higher and keeps it from upshifting to 6th gear. Good for driving in heavy traffic under 60 MPH and probably eliminates half the shifting I will have in my 2012 SHO when I leave it in Auto under the same traffic conditions. It's the main thing I use the paddle shifters for, to keep it from always upshifting when you let of the throttle any.

The things I don’t like are the way the back end of the car always collects a lot of dust and dirt. You can spend hours detailing the car then go to the store at the corner go back to the house and then look at the rear end and it’s covered in dust and dirt. Idk what causes it but it sucks and bothers me a lot. Anybody no what I’m talking about with your cars. It picks up everything on the road. Pieces of leaves , grass clippings. Never had a car that did this. And the windshield is a bug magnet. I know the car not very aero. Just a bother.

Normally that happens if you drive on a lot of gravel roads.

I would agree, I live in the city. Besides I would never drive my car on a gravel road. No way. Haha. It does it just on regular streets. Sucks ! Could it be the lower front spoiler directing the air around the car and ends up sticking to the rear ? Man I don’t know just reaching for anything to make sense LOL !

Yes, and I notice the same thing when going through the car wash that may or may not be caused by the dryer. The Ford emblem always has crap around it as does the ledge below the bottom lip of the trunk.

If you want "sport" mode on your 2012, you'll need to get a tune. I run an LMS 93+X tune on my 2012 MKS and it has what they call "hill descent" mode which is exactly what you described. Drop it it M, shifts on it's own, holds gears higher and locks out 6th gear. Hit the paddles and you're back to shifting manually. I'm sure Ortiz, Gearhead, AJPTurbo, etc can implement that for you.

The headlight beam pattern is too narrow. My radio has a mind of its own with hard turning. The exhaust isn't satisfying. The piano black radio controls like to scratch but also crack. My seats and headliner like to creak. The double honk. The taillight and headlight gaps. The small fender pieces don't sit flush. The decklid likes to rust. Some settings save when you unplug the battery, so why not all of them? The remote start range is bad and can sometimes do an incomplete start if you press it a 3rd time so now it wont work. You can roll down all the windows with the fob but you can't roll them up with the fob. The led fog lights aren't very functional. Sony system doesn't sound all that great for a premium system. Steering wheel isn't very thicc. Interior isn't as roomy as it appears to be. Non-servicable transfer unit. Carrier bearing not being replaceable without doing the whole driveshaft. The FWD bias. Not being able to get to the massage seat menu from the screen. Repairs are expensive.

I don't hate the car, but it does have its issues. Some of these are even fixable. I fixed the heavy feeling and rake with bcracing coilovers. It's a lot harsher of a ride though. Stock suspension felt very squishy to me. I put in some different headlight bulbs so I could actually see at night. I tried getting a custom steering wheel but it didn't work out, company used a SEL wheel and the paddles wouldn't transfer. It was definitely the perfect thickness. I repainted the decklid to get rid of the rust underneath. I will be messing with Forscan very soon to disable double honk.

Ok, I've found a major dislike.

I took my girlfriend to a drive-in movie this weekend, and had to keep restarting the car due to the auto power-off after 30 or whatever minutes. And I'm sure the other people watching the movie didn't appreciate my lights turning on and off periodically.

wtf? Is there a way to disable this? I didn't see anything in the menus... is there a forscan mod for it?

Am I the only one that accidentally turns on the wipers when pushing the turn signal up/down? Definitely like the Japanese layout better, wipers on the left and light on the right.

Today just noted this. I've never had Sirius on this vehicle but it is free till the 8th (I believe)... though to give a try. The "You Are Not Subscribed" message keeps popping up every time I try to select another station... Sync I doesn't know its free !

1. All touch screen and no buttons. I'm driving a Buick Encore while everything wrong with my Sho gets straightened out, and man are the buttons for everything nice to have. No switching screens, no having to look, just feel, press, success.
2. Speaking of the lack of buttons, the perpetually scratched and dirty piano black pieces.
3. The fact that it has a moonroof. I tried so hard to find one without a moonroof, but it's nearly impossible.
4. Honestly the FWD bias doesn't really bother me, but a stouter AWD would make it much nicer.
5. The lack of side support on the seats.
6. Mine personally seems to have an issue of fix one thing and another breaks lately. I just want to take it to a road course once this year, but that keeps looking less and less likely.

I don't like when the rear drivers side door handle breaks from the inside. Until I find time to tear into it, it will only open from the outside.
