theft light question

first of all i would like to say hello to everyone on the board. i have a recent problem with the theft light on my 96 . sometimes not all the time the theft light will stay light just a bit and when i hit the brake pedal it will dim low like it almost of but when i let off the brake it gets brighter again then sometimes it does not even do it any suggestions what it could be thanks for any help
