I'm sure you guys are aware that any of the s/c, turbo, or bottle-baby cars of the last 10 years have been 12-second capable, and probably also 11-second capable. No one seems to have had the interest to perform the (non-streetable) suspension mods to get them there. GTP and Honda guys have been doing it for years.

I'm in but I haven't even started working on mine yet, I actually just pulled it out of the snow a few weeks ago. I have an ATX with high mileage so I am at a big disadvantage but I plan on breaking a lot of stuff this year to reach my goals and if the transmission goes then it will become an MTX.

please please please put a 150 direct port setup on it and run mid 12's.

I don't think anyone has ever put a big stall on a ATX car either and I think that would help a TON
No one has put any decent size of slicks on a healthy atx. If i were to build a quick sho for cheap I would buy this

Well, that wouyld help, but you guys hafta lock down the suspension. Year back, I considered cable limiters to keep the front axles straight, and raising and making the rear suspension solid with some bars with heim joints.

Hmmm. I have always thought about some kind of blocks in the rear, but never thought about limiting the front travel.....

how about bolting some kind of wheelie bars to the rear control arm box that go back and don't let the weight transfer..... simplest idea... if you could make it bolt on/bolt off it would also be the best for a street driven/dd SHO.....

My brother (fuzzyfish see 1/4 mile record thread) too his completely stock 89 and welded 2 bolts onto the rear strut and would slide a piece of angle iron on it at the track to make the rear solid. It worked incredibly well. I use the travel limiters that came on GTO's when they would ship them across the big pond in my turbo car. The worked very well. I never did anything with the front because I never had traction issues. That torque management ALWAYS kicked my ass. best I could ever get was a 2.00 60' and that was rolling away on no boost

There was an article done by one of the car mags maybe 15 years ago. They took a stock SSEi Bonneville, and played with things without touching the engine. Started out at mid 15s. They put Air Lift air bags in the rear to stiffen the rear (no, none available for Taurus/Sable), tightened up the front suspension, played with tire pressures, and ran mid 14s.
I suspect that looking at what the GTP guys have done to run 12s (and quicker) would be of benefit, short of doing wheelie bars.

Anyone remember the product that SHObro's or Midwest SHO had a few years back?
IIRC it would bolt up to the LCA's/box in the center of the car and it had a screw mechanism and a rubber stopper that would thread up to the underside of the car and lock in place.
I remember seeing it on there web page for a short time then disappearing,never seen anyone comment about having one.
