Was at Cedar Falls Raceway, Cedar Falls Iowa last night, (10/1/2010).

My first time ever drag racing a car. Made 4 runs before the sprinkles came and track
closed. As sun set temps went from 70deg to 60 deg. !0 mile headwind.

I learned many things.....
1. My Reaction times really SUCK! :dribble::dribble:
2."Brick" is very consistent!!!! ::woo-hoo::thankyou:
3. Everyone wanted to know what "that THING" was.... :rofl:
4. Surprised all my kids and friends.... :sun:
5. At the end of the first run... Announcer said: "He better have a helmet on!"
6. My number is #6414, the last 4 digits of my SS#.:salute:
7. At a bar after the racing, my Medicare card was accepted as an ID!!!! :evilgrin::evilgrin::woo-hoo::woo-hoo::thankyou:

My best time was the first run. Shortly after my run, a friend who has a Charger SRT8, that is tuned, turned an 13.33. He has been as low as 12.8 at this track.

In my last 2 runs, I ran against a friend who has an 09' Pontiac G8 GT, that has headers, no cats, a Vararam Intake, and a Vector Motorsports tune. The first time he spun his wheels for about 300 ft. The second run he beat me by less than .2 seconds.

I was told that this track is considered "SLOW" because it is slightly up-hill.

Getting ready to run.... My Canon T1i must have confused my son... or the beer was a talkin, because most of his pix are just streaks!

She's ready to go again!

Need to figure out why SHE seems to run outta steam in the last 1/8 mi.

IT WAS GREAT FUN!!!!!! :swing::swing::woo-hoo::woo-hoo::woo-hoo::thankyou:

That is quick! Seeing the pic of it pulling up to stage is awesome. It makes me chuckle thinking about all the WTF comments the spectators and other racers had to be making.

Nice! I would imagine being aptly named a Brick would have something to do with the 'slow' top end. But mid 13's is for sure nothing to sneeze out, congrats!

Jesus.. Nice.. and im gonna have to agree with Tim on this one. That thing has the aerodynamics of a semi.. Im sure at 90+ MPH your C/D is fairly high! ;)

I removed the lower pan to help it cool down.... Think it needs to stay in place, as it would help flow under car. Also did not lower tire pressures, and only braked the boost to around 1200 RPM.

My worst time was with the traction control off.... First run, I turned car off in line, and forgot to turn it off. Last 2 my theory was that having it on keeps fronts from spinning wildly and helps get more out of rears. Opinions???

Track known to be slow, may have been slower than usual. Friend with G8 GXP stick had turned a 12.2 another night. He turned a 13.3 (quite a bit of spin) just after my first run.

Still, I think it will take more than air and track conditions to get the Brick into the 12's.
Hope I'm wrong!

Bob, i'm a little confused. Never mind, i reread your post. I will have to try putting T/C back on the next time I go and see if it drops the times.

If it doesn't work... blame my two sons!

I also think the lower panel being off may have affected the times/speed at the end.

How much brake boost RPM have you been trying to start at?

My summer tires definitely bite better than stock RS-A;s.

Nice work Bob! FYI, the cD of the flex is only 0.355 not bad for it's size (frontal area) & shape. That underbody pan does a lot to reduce turbulence under the car and I don't think it will help it cool any better since heat rises.

The Cd has nothing to do with frontal area. Total drag is calculated by multiplying the Cd by the frontal area.

Bob, I was launching at 1500 to 1800. I still have my belly pan on mine. I'm waiting another week or two and see if we can't get some better air here. Hopefully the two of us can get these things in the low 13's before the end of the season. That 60ft you have is awesome. The MPH is crazy too. I only managed a 2.03 and that wasn't my fastest ET. I was averaging 2.06 with traction controll off on all runs.
