the almighty atx

ok i have a 93 atx with the usual soft shifting tranny.so i get into the car start it up and it wont go into gear. i cant get it out of park for some reason?there were no funny noises or anything when i parked it or prior to driving it,but it jus wont go ,.im totally lost withb this one,i tried a search but couldnt really find a solution.any info would be highly appreciated.

it's usually realated to the brake switch the correct name for the switch is a BOO switch., to get you out of a jam, turn the key to on, don't start the car, put it in nuetral and then start the car, then at least you will be able to get it to a shop, or fix it yourself. good luck. here, i did a search for you and came up with this thread, should be helpfull.

ok i just went outside and i had no luck!! but, i noticed that the brake lights are not coming on when the brakw is pressed? hopefully somebody knows of this situation! thanks

yeah that is definitly your BOO switch, brake on brake off, read the thread i posted in my last post and that will help. you turn the key just enough to unlock the steering wheel, but not far enough to make the dash come on, ignition, try that. read the thread as well as it explains what is happening to your car. good luck.

ok im gonna try that and i also did a search on "no brake lights " so hopefully i we can figure it out! thanks again
