Here's something to consider.
Scott is right. No, I'm not bashing you Brad. Relax. It's not about making anyone feel bad or saying $4 over and over again.
Each corner of the car has a certain amount of weight to hold up. Now, multiply the weight by the inertia of the car in motion, especially at higher speeds and then compare your body weight to the amount of push on each one of those strut towers.. Do you REALLY think your body compares? I dearly hope not, or you best in in a bed for a very long time living off of A LOT of tubes. Very long tubes at that.
Simple designs require sophisicated materials. It's that easy. You can't use a low grade metal to support a vehicles weight transfer, let alone to link two corners weight being shifted. You might have noticed a difference in the cars handling and it could've ben 20mph+... However, it is very hard to absorb the idea of metal you can even bend by a hair supporting strut towers. besides, you have to consider one VERY important thing. When you are bracing towers, you want to eliminate all flex between the two. This means down to the tenths of an inch. 2 feet lower, at the ends of your strut, you're getting more around 1" of play rather then .10".. This isn't exact, but it's an example. The length of the entire assembly does effect how much bracing your SHO can handle.. or will allow. Just some stuff to consider, taht's all. Oh yes, also note that an adjustable brace is definitely a better solution. Maybe this will give you guys something else to tinker with and get some pipes around the $20 ballpark which wont' even budge with vicious Ryan giving them a yank..
Or better yet, the entire SHOCAGO club standing on top of 'em!
Just my .02 on it... cauz that's all i can afford!
