"Damn dude you spent $25 on that! I spent $3.96 on mine, looks better too. Ill have pics soon."

homeade mods are cool, thats what it's all about, but you trashed at the $25 thing. ooohh yeah.

a combo of alot of stiffing components would be where 20mph cornering speed increases lay. how about you explain what you used to make it and why your bar is so stiff.

Huh. Huh. He said, "bar is so stiff." Huh. Huh.

Bart

I'm not trashing the $3.94 bar. I'm just saying don't expect more than $3.94 worth of improvement from it. I know the SHO's body is not made out of plastic. That was an exaggeration to make a point. I'm sorry if I offended any of you, but the engineer in me was raising the BS flag. Believe whatever you wish to believe.

I didn't notice a difference in the cornering capability with the much stiffer SHO Shop bars. I did notice there was much less (no) creaking going over bumps.

Home made STB do work the front one makes more of a diffrence then the back one does. But the STB make the car so much STIFFER when turning the car dosen't sway back and forth when you turn

The rear STB for the back of the gen 2 is a stright across one it DOES not have any bends. The pic of waddsn STB was one off a gen in which the design had to be different to get around the speakers. So one the gen 2s the STB is the same as the front except with differnt demensions.

Hey sdpatt dont diss it till you try it buddy...

Here's something to consider.

Scott is right. No, I'm not bashing you Brad. Relax. It's not about making anyone feel bad or saying $4 over and over again.

Each corner of the car has a certain amount of weight to hold up. Now, multiply the weight by the inertia of the car in motion, especially at higher speeds and then compare your body weight to the amount of push on each one of those strut towers.. Do you REALLY think your body compares? I dearly hope not, or you best in in a bed for a very long time living off of A LOT of tubes. Very long tubes at that.

Simple designs require sophisicated materials. It's that easy. You can't use a low grade metal to support a vehicles weight transfer, let alone to link two corners weight being shifted. You might have noticed a difference in the cars handling and it could've ben 20mph+... However, it is very hard to absorb the idea of metal you can even bend by a hair supporting strut towers. besides, you have to consider one VERY important thing. When you are bracing towers, you want to eliminate all flex between the two. This means down to the tenths of an inch. 2 feet lower, at the ends of your strut, you're getting more around 1" of play rather then .10".. This isn't exact, but it's an example. The length of the entire assembly does effect how much bracing your SHO can handle.. or will allow. Just some stuff to consider, taht's all. Oh yes, also note that an adjustable brace is definitely a better solution. Maybe this will give you guys something else to tinker with and get some pipes around the $20 ballpark which wont' even budge with vicious Ryan giving them a yank..

What I want to know, is what the **** you were doing taking a corner in a Taurus at 110mph, suspension improvements or not?!?!

That's nuts man, you do realize if you lose it at that speed nothing on the face of the earth is going to save you from death, and that's just what your respective families want at Christmas time, as if there hasn't been enough tragedy this year!!!!

he tested this some time ago, it wasn't last week and a LOT of people drive VERY fast in their SHOs. i drive VERY fast and aggresive, partly when i am running late, ****** off or just want to see how far i can push the car and see if something gives out. i do realize that i can die very easily if something does give out, but i am aware of this when i do it and that is why i do the mods i do to my car. if i was going to drive it like grandma, it would be stock. you chose like the majority of people in this world who drive to drive conservatively and that is fine. some people lile me drive to make sure we are alive and to see how much we can scare the shit out of ourselves. not many people are insane enough to jump out of a perfectly good plane at 10k feet, do you think the same of them as you do of peopel who drive like me? we all need ways to release in life, drivin excessively fast and sky diving are a couple of mine, they are two fo the greatest things on earth and they relax me. i don't critisize people who hunt and **** little animals, don't you think their poor babies have had a tough enough life, they need to lose their parents too because some guy wants to prove that he can shoot a poor animal as he hides in a tree. i know this is irrelevant to a point, but my point is this, we just do it to relax and have fun. we don't hurt anyone else when we do it because its mostly in discrete areas or when we are on the highway its when no one ese is around. i know i personally know what i am doing driving, i haven't killed myself yet and i have never been in an accident, so i appreicate your concern about our families worrying, but i assure you, we will be fine. this isn't meant to **** anyone off, yes i do realize i was being a smart ass in parts of it, thats just how i am. i am just trying to make you see things the way i do.

No flames, just stating an observation -

I used to drive like a maniac. I can attest to the fact that it's fun, and luckily I never got caught. But, after I've had 2 friends killed in car accidents (one by a drunk driver), and the brother of a kid I went to grade school with get killed showing off his new integra (rolled it multiple times at 100+ speeds), I've since toned down my driving significantly. I think the point that was trying to be made was that it's ok for you to do whatever you wish - I'd be hypocritical to say otherwise - but if something did happen, there would be many other people who would suffer, and...in my case...learn from it.

Moral of the story is: Just be careful...

clint: sorry to hear about the accidents, but i know i am not an expert or professional, but i am not stupid by any means, if i feel that the car is not going to handle it, i don;t do it. if i even feel like one wheel is thinking about slipping or sliding out on me i just let off. i do know what i am doing, i know i am not the best driver in the world, but i am the best i know and i have ever seen around me. i am not conceited or cocky, i just know what i am capable of. other people who drive like i do i can't speak for, i just hope they know what they are doing as much as i do.

Good to hear - as I (think) I said, no flames intended. I'm not exactly a model driver either (I'm more afraid of other driver's lack of ability to drive than mine), but decline to push the car and myself to the limits, just cuz of Murphy's Law (If something bad can happen, it will).

I don't want to be a ***** or a hipocrite. But we all drive like ******** at times, I've done it as much as anyone. But I am a stepfather now. And since I have a 2 year old in my care, my driving has become much more careful. Anone who has children will understand as well. If your gonna drive like an ass and put your own life in danger at least do it where your not gonna endanger the lifes of others.

Don't be a total ass either, use some common sense. We all have our limits and there usually not as great as we think they are. Don't drink and drive. I think we all know somone who was killed by a drunk driver. I learned the hard way myself, and I'll be the first to say its not worth it. I got a DWI in 97 and can honestly say I'm glad I did. Cause I used to do it alot. Its a miracle I didn't **** myself or somone else.

A friend of mine is serving a 1 year sentence for vehicular manslaughter right now. Good kid too, just made a mistake and a family is without a brother and a son. While my friend has to live with that on his consience the rest fo his life.

Sorry for the long post. I'm done preachin'.

I am not trying to be an A$$ or anything, I understand the loss and tragedy everyone has felt sometime in their life due to the loss of a loved one in an auto accident.

BUT COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THESE THINGS ARE MADE FROM AND HOW THEY WERE CONSTRUCTED!!!!
