I've seen it on older GEN III's. That black screen in the center bottom of the speedometer. I suppose it is for the gear selection, but the one on my 99 doesn't work....or maybe since the 99 instrument clusters differed from the 96-98s, maybe it was disabled?

96's were the only gen 3's with the gear selector up there.

From what I have seen on the Ford Cds the wiring is all there. You just need the bulb holders and bulbs.

Be nice if you can make 98 passenger seats have lumbar support too. 96 SHO.

BTW has anyone every looked at chrome rims of a 97-99 and then looked at a 96 rim, much better chrome quality.

I always thought it would be cool to have the letters S H O cut into that place where the old gear selector was so that it lights up when the instrument lights are on.
I have had my instrument cluster apart when I painted the gauge bezel (mask as Ford calls it) charcoal gray to match my interior, anyway, it appeared to be just black plastic with no indicators.

Probably. I never noticed differences with the chrome wheels, but I thought the 99's looked soo great with the wheels they have......until I saw them on a wagon!
