Is there a way I can test at least the electronics on a fuel injector? The engine is on a stand so I can't do anything that involves the engine. I heard at one point you can test the resistance on it or something to figure out if they are still good. Any ideas?

If you are just checking to see if there is a electrically dead one, the resistance check may work, but to do it right, yard them out and take them to the local Napa or reputable machine shop and they should be able to flow them for you. The machine runs all of them for a specific amount of time each, with a solvent to clean them, and at the end you have a visual comaparison (as well as an actual flow/minute) of them individually. The local Napa does them for us, I wanna say they charge about $5-$10 per and put all new orings and plasics for the pintle on 'em.

No, I never use NAPA for anything important. I take mine to a carb, injection shop. They clean, replace the inlet screen, and replace all rubber parts for 18 each. They also check the resistance to make sure they are all close to each other and they test flow them for 60 seconds.

Thanks for the lead. Just the push I needed to send off a set from my sons' car. Mailman Lady says WitchHunt should have 'em Monday :thumb:

ya upon reading this about napa, yesterday i took them to get them tested and the injectors wouldn't fit because they are too short. It was 15 bucks for the flow testing only and another 10 for the cleaning. I think ima send them to witchhunter too. Mind you i have the v8 sho motor so the v6 injectors might work on napa's machines.

Is there a reputable business that sells new injectors or remanufactured ones for a descent price. How much?

rockauto has them for the v8's for 40 bucks and 30 if you send in a core, i think those are remanufactured. Idk about the v6's though.

last time i ordered from rockauto they sent me fuel injectors for a dodge ram, which were supposed to be for my car.

I used them

Reasonable price and timely. Just all in advance to get scheduled.

Agreed. Just got set back from Rich yesterday that I am trying to install as we speak (or type). Even got see the before/after results online before the were sent back. In my case there wasn't much of a change but since they were bought used off the forum I figured I would have them done just in case.

i have a very cheap and easy way to test injectors. Cut out a bulb with wires on both sides from a set of christmas lights, hook a long wire to it, cut another piece of equal length wire. hook up one wire to the positive, one to the negative and connect to battery. the light will flicker if the injector is good. it will just stay on if it doesnt. also you will hear it click. this only works with the injectors out though. good luck

Can you explain this a bit more? I'm a little slow. :nut: I don't see where or how your connecting the light to the injector. Since I replaced my injectors the car is running MUCH better but I would like to determine if the problem was caused by a complete failure of one of the fuel injectors.

If you test the coil on the injector it should be withing the impedance specs. If it's open or way too high then it's no good.

Hi Paul! Do you happen to know what the impedance specs should be? I tested all of mine and they were all around 14 ohms so I'm guessing they are OK. Otherwise I think this would indicate they were all bad.
