I have a quick question. I ordered new injectors for my 2010 and the inlet is different. I'm apprehensive about just installing them without consulting the gurus here. The part numbers are the same but its very different. The left is my original (they all look this way). Thanks for any help. I'm stalled on the project

Cross-reference it with the original part. The easiest way to do this is to check the part number stamped on the side of your old injector and find a replacement with the exact same number. You can also use your vehicle's VIN to look up the correct part.

definitely looks like a different spray pattern. get those part numbers manufacturer and get it into AI Gemini, copilot... your gut saying looks different the wrong spray pattern can cause issues.

The Motorcraft CM5199 looks like your before pick in its original form, with the o-ring installed, of course. 2013+ look like the new ones you have. I'm guessing that your new ones are updated but still use the original part number. I think you'll be fine to run the new ones.

I have been running Bosch 62842 injectors on my 2010 for the past year without issue. They have the same inlet orifice as the ones that came out of my engine which look the same as your originals. Yes, they are not motorcraft, but motorcraft isnt motorcraft they just slap their name on the best bidder for them at the time. Which in 2010 for fuel injectors may have been Continental under the Siemans VDO banner.

So I got it back together and the initial drive seemed ok at first. Then all **** broke loose. Showing cylinders 4,5 and 6 misfire and low fuel pressure at start on bank one. What on earth do I check for? I verified the connections and hoses. I'm sad and lost

and you checked all the markings and made sure they were cross referenced and checked with the vendor you bought them from?

It idles perfectly. My issue really only happens under load. Coil packs was my first thought. I changed the plugs on the affected cylinders and swapped the coil packs around with no effect. Given that I changed the injectors it seems a likely candidate unfortunately

It's actually two banks giving you trouble. Low fuel pressure at startup on bank one and misfires on 4,5 and 6 bank 2.

You need to monitor low and high fuel pressures, both actual and desired.

It didn't do this before you changed the injectors? Go back and double check your work.

Hello everyone. I appreciate all the help so far. I took it all back apart and everything looked fine. For some reason I decided to check the fuel line from the pump to the rails. Air blows freely from the long side but the short side (the rail I had issues with) flows significantly less. They should be the same shoudn't they? I'm sorry if it's an obvious answer. This is my first experience with GDI and my thinking could be wrong.
